CURTAINS has been named an official selection for the 25th anniversary edition of San Antonio Film Festival. The film will screen on Saturday, August 3, as the final film in the festival’s The Last Laugh Shorts Block.
In addition to more than 100 short, documentary and feature length films from around the world, the 2019 Festival will also feature its Hollywood Insider panel series, celebrity meet and greets, filmmaker socials, exclusive after parties and the annual Awards Ceremony.
Among the celebrities and artists scheduled to attend are San Antonio native and studio executive Marcia Nasatir (The Big Chill, Rocky, Apocalypse Now); Disney animator Davy Liu (The Lion King, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast); director and editor Anne Goursaud (The Outsiders, Bram Stoker’s Dracula); and A.P. Gonzalez, UCLA film professor and writer/director (The Wetback, Clay Farmers).
Cheech Marin of the comedy duo Cheech and Chong will be presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Texas Commission on the Arts for his lifelong advocacy of the Chicano Art Movement. The festival will also screen the world premiere of I Am Patrick Swayze, a tribute to the late actor featuring interviews with Demi Moore, Rob Lowe, Sam Elliott, C. Thomas Howell, Jennifer Grey, brother Don Swayze and wife Lisa Niemi.
